God did not create Hell for humanity. It was designed as the dwelling place of Satan and his demons after they rebelled against God before the foundation of the world (Matthew 25:41). Yet, all who reject God’s salvation through Jesus Christ will share in its eternal suffering.

Why Does Hell Exist?

God prepared Hell for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). It is not God’s will that any human being should perish (2 Peter 3:9). But because of sin, rebellion, and unbelief, many will face eternal judgment.

• Hell is not a joke.
